Jambalaya for a Large Group

Ingredients

  • Desired amount of Mild Jambalaya Mix
  • Desired meat(sausage, chicken, pork etc.)
  • 4 cups of water to every 2 1/2 cups of rice mix.

Instructions

  • Cook desired meat in 3 tablespoons of cooking oil.
  • Add desired amount of Mild Jambalaya and water.
  • Bring to a boil, stir once and cover with lid.
  • Put fire on low and cook 25-30 minutes.

* 1 Pound of rice mix makes approximately 10 servings.
*  For every 2 1/2 cups of rice mix, use 1 to 1 1/2 pounds of desired meat.
* 10 cups of rice needs 14 cups of water.

  • This is THE BEST JAMBALAYA EVER!!!!! We make the mild for our daughter and the spicy for us. We have brought both for large groups and every one just raves. I am so happy to be able to order it directly. I have quite a few friends, family, and co-workers hooked on it now. 🙂

  • Got one of these packs in a Christmas gift. Have never made jambalaya myself and finally decided to give it a try. By far the best I’ve ever had! Seriously! I would have never believed that little packet could have produced such a flavorful jambalaya if I hadn’t made it myself. The best part is it was extremely simple and had all the seasoning so no guesswork involved. My only change was adding diced onions and celery. Used 10 cut up boneless skinless chicken thighs and one lb of Amanda hot sausage. It was delicious! Will buy more and can’t wait to try your other products.

  • Do you have a Jambalaya recipe for a 10 gallon pot? I just ordered your gift box.
    I have one I am going to use .

      Thank you for your order.
      The recipe for a 10 gallon pot that we use is the following:
      13.5 lbs jambalaya rice mix
      12-15 lbs of pork meat
      10-12 lbs of deboned chicken thighs
      6-7 lbs mild sausage
      between 7 quarts to 2 gallons of water
      Cook pork 1st for about an hour, then cook chicken and sausage for about 40 minutes,
      add jambalaya mix and water, bring to a boil, stir, cover and lower fire (low). Cook for 25-30 minutes.
      Turn off and leave covered for 5-10 minutes to steam.

  • We are cooking for 30 people, we like to mix the mild and hot. What is your suggestion for the # of packs as well as the directions? Should we follow the package directions for the amount of water?

    • Hi Ramona, one bag of jambalaya usually feeds 5 to 6 people. I would think 6 bags would be great. You would still follow the directions on the bag for the amount of water. Make sure when its finished cooking, leave it covered for 5-10 minutes to steam the rice. Thank you for using our products. I hope this helps.
